Sulfur-centered radicals having the structure $\ce{RS^{.}}$ ($\ce{R} \neq \ce{H}$). This term is derived from sulfenic acids. The synonymous term sulfanyl radicals is derived from sulfane, $\ce{H2S}$. E.g. $\ce{CH3S^{.}}$ methylsulfanyl or methanesulfenyl radical. An older synonymous term is alkylthio radical.
