Sulfur-centered radicals having the structure RS· (R ≠ H). This term is derived from sulfenic acids. The synonymous term sulfanyl radicals is derived from sulfane, H₂S. E.g. CH₃S· methylsulfanyl or methanesulfenyl radical. An older synonymous term is alkylthio radical.
