Process by which the @R05343@ emitted in a @L03447@ is absorbed and re-emitted many times in the plasma prior to striking the phosphor. This process is called radiation @T06492@ or imprisonment.
Note:
Radiation @T06492@ lengthens the effective @L03515@ of emission as viewed from outside the @L03447@. The control of this @T06492@ is, therefore, an important design consideration for low-pressure lamps.
