Addition of small amounts of @H02906@ @C01171@ to a hydrophobic @S05727@ may make the latter more sensitive to @A00182@ by electrolyte. Higher concentrations of the same @H02906@ @C01171@ usually protect the hydrophobic @S05727@ from @A00182@. This phenomenon is called protective action.
