The generic term carbohydrate includes @M04021@, @O04289@ and @P04752@ as well as substances derived from @M04021@ by reduction of the carbonyl group (@A00210@), by @O04362@ of one or more terminal groups to @C00852@, or by replacement of one or more hydroxy group(s) by a hydrogen atom, an amino group, thiol group or similar groups. It also includes derivatives of these compounds.
