Compounds having two amino groups bonded to the same carbon, $\ce{R2C(NR2)2}$. Also called geminal diamines. [The term aminal has also been used, with consequent ambiguity, for $\ce{\upalpha\!\mbox{-}amino}$ ethers (hemiaminal ethers); such use is discouraged.]
