Polymer composed of macromolecules containing exclusively oxyphenylene or ring-substituted oxyphenylene constitutional repeating units in the backbone:
polyoxyphenylene
where \(\ce{R^1}\), \(\ce{R^2}\), \(\ce{R^3}\), and \(\ce{R^4}\) are each hydrogen or an alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl group.

Note: Polyoxyphenylenes are a subclass of polyoxyarylenes as well as a subclass of polyethers.
