Artificial enclosures placed in the pelagic region of ponds, lakes, or marine environments. These systems vary in size from as little as \(\pu{2 L}\) to over \(\pu{2.5E6 L}\); however, most of these systems have a volume between \(\pu{1000 L}\) and \(\pu{E4 L}\).
Note: These systems may or may not be in contact with the profundal region. Fish are generally excluded from these test systems.
