Assay in which the binding of a ligand to a target immobilized on the gold surface of a chip is detected by changes in the angle of the light reflected from the surface.
Note: This assay type is not usually used for high-throughput screening but has been expanded to multiple simultaneous detection channels and has improved sensitivity to detect low-molecular-weight binding molecules.
