Assay in which the response of live cells to a test sample is measured.
Notes:
  1. The type of cells, parameters measured, and detection systems used vary widely.
  2. Assay parameters are controlled with respect to conditions such as \(\ce{CO2}\), \(\ce{O2}\), temperature, and \(\pu{pH}\).
