T-cell receptor (TCR) composed of two different glycoprotein chains, designated \(\upgamma\) and \(\updelta\), assembled in a \(\ce{\upgamma\mbox{:}\updelta\ heterodimer}\).
Note: Cells bearing these receptors are called γ:δ T cells. The group of γ:δ T cells is much less common than α:β T cells, and usually found in the gut mucosa, in a population of lymphocytes known as intra-epithelial lymphocytes (IELs).
