neutral antagonist

Ligand that blocks the responses of a receptor to both agonists and inverse agonists with the same intensity. It binds to the receptor without evoking any change of conformation or change to the ratio of activated to inactivated conformations.
Note: Perfect neutral antagonism is difficult to achieve.
