  1. Neural facilitation: Increase in postsynaptic excitation as a result of very rapid firing of action potentials by a presynaptic neuron.
  2. Presynaptic facilitation: Increase of presynaptic excitation when an excited neuron receives additional excitatory impulses from other neurons.
