Component of a multi-phase system into which the target analytes are extracted.
Notes:
  1. When the acceptor phase is a liquid the term acceptor solution may be used.
  2. In extractions employing a semipermeable membrane for phase separation the acceptor phase is the phase to which analytes are transferred from the donor phase.
