Multivariate data having two or more kinds of explanatory variable per object.

Notes:
  1. For two groups of explanatory variables the data is termed ‘three-way’.
  2. Models that decompose multi-way data include PARAFAC, Tucker3 model.
Example: Fluorescence intensities with excitation wavelength and emission wavelength representing the two variable axes, and the objects making the third direction.
