protein complex

https://doi.org/10.1351/goldbook.09762
Ensemble of two or more different associated proteins, each with a specific function, linked by non-covalent protein-protein interactions.
Notes:
  1. Protein complexes are required for most biological processes. Together they form molecular machines that perform biological functions.
  2. Proteins with quaternary structure are not considered as protein complexes.
Example: Anaphase promoting complex.
