biomacromolecule

Macromolecule (including proteins, nucleic acids, and polysaccharides) formed by living organisms.
Notes:
  1. From a biological standpoint, a biomacromolecule can also be defined as a biomolecule of high relative molecular mass.
  2. Non-natural biomacromolecule-like synthetic molecules (such as poly(lactic acid)), and nucleic acid analogues (such as peptide nucleic acids or locked nucleic acids) are also used in bioanalysis.
