Electric potential difference of the sample referenced to ground.
Notes:
  1. The sample voltage can be pulsed or constant, depending on the type of instrument.
  2. For insulators, the sample voltage is assumed to be the same as that of the sample holder if an effective charge neutralizing device is used.
