integration range

of a spectrum

Frequency or wavenumber range over which the integrated intensity of an absorption band is measured by numerical integration of the area under the band.
Notes:
  1. For Gaussian bands, integration over one full width half maximum to each side of the band centre yields \(\pu{98 \%}\) of the area under the band.
  2. Lorentzian bands integration over \(\pu{3.1}\) or \(\pu{15.9}\) full width half maximum to each side yields \(\pu{90 \%}\) and \(\pu{98 \%}\) of the band area.
