Definition
Frequency or wavenumber range over which the integrated intensity of an absorption band is measured by numerical integration of the area under the band.

Notes
1) For Gaussian bands, integration over one full width half maximum to each side of the band centre yields \(\pu{98\%}\) of the area under the band.
2) Lorentzian bands integration over \(\pu{3.1}\) or \(\pu{15.9}\) full width half maximum to each side yields \(\pu{90\%}\) and \(\pu{98\%}\) of the band area.
