Chemical reaction in which at least one reactant or a @C00876@ is bound through chemical bonds or weaker interactions, such as hydrogen bonds or donor–acceptor interactions, to a polymer.
Notes:
  1. The easy separation of low-molar-mass reactants or products from the polymer-supported species is a great advantage of polymer-supported reactions.
  2. Typical examples of polymer-supported reactions are: (a) reactions performed by use of polymer-supported catalysts, (b) solid-phase peptide synthesis, in which intermediate peptide molecules are chemically bonded to beads of a suitable @PT07191@.
