If the h,k,l diffraction lines are difficult to recognize because they are of minor intensity, the mean interlayer spacing \\(\\rm{c}\/2\\) can be used as indication for the presence of a graphitic structure. The \\(\\rm{c}\/2\\) value of \\(0.34\\ \\rm{nm}\\) is generally considered as an upper limit for synthetic graphite."},"links":[{"term":"Carbon fibres","url":"https:\/\/goldbook.iupac.org\/\/terms\/view\/C00831"},{"term":"Graphite","url":"https:\/\/goldbook.iupac.org\/\/terms\/view\/G02684"},{"term":"diffraction","url":"https:\/\/goldbook.iupac.org\/\/terms\/view\/D01711"},{"term":"graphitizable carbon","url":"https:\/\/goldbook.iupac.org\/\/terms\/view\/G02690"},{"term":"graphitization heat treatment","url":"https:\/\/goldbook.iupac.org\/\/terms\/view\/G02692"},{"term":"synthetic graphite","url":"https:\/\/goldbook.iupac.org\/\/terms\/view\/S06233"}],"sources":["PAC, 1995, 67, 473.
