It is due to an intermediate or product of the inducing reaction participating in the second reaction. Chemical induction is often observed in oxidation–reduction reactions, chain reactions, and biological reactions. Sometimes a reaction having \(\Delta G^{\,\unicode{x26ac}} > 0\) is induced by a simultaneous process having \(\Delta G^{\,\unicode{x26ac}} < 0\).
