Polymer composed of macromolecules containing exclusively germanium atoms in the backbone: \[\ce{-[-GeR2\bond{-}]_{n}\bond{-}}\] where \(\ce{R}\) is alkyl, aryl or heteroaryl.
Note: Polygermanes are sometimes referred to as polygermylenes. Use of this term is discouraged.
