Polymer prepared from a mixture containing 1-benzofuran (formerly coumarone) and indene.
Notes:
  1. A mixture of coal-tar and gas-tar distillates is commonly used to prepare a coumaroneindene polymer.
  2. A coumarone-indene polymer contains structural units such as:
    coumarone-indene polymer
  3. Coumarone-indene polymers are film-forming materials.
  4. Coumarone-indene polymers are sometimes, particularly in a public (popular) use and technological practice, called coumarone resins or coumarone-indene resins. Use of these terms is discouraged.
