continuous-phase concentration

symbols: $[\ce{A}]_{\rm{cont}}$, $[\ce{M}]_{\rm{cont}}$; unit: $\pu{mol L-1}$
synonym: continuous-phase amount concentration

Concentration of species within the continuous phase of a dispersion.
Notes:
  1. If the continuous phase is water, the symbols \([\ce{A}]_{\rm{w}}\) and \([\ce{M}]_{\rm{w}}\) are usually used.
  2. If the continuous-phase concentration depends on quantities such as time \(t\), etc., the recommended symbols are \([\ce{A}]_{\rm{cont}}(t,\ldots)\) and \([\ce{M}]_{\rm{cont}}(t,\ldots)\).
