unit mass resolution

https://doi.org/10.1351/goldbook.12606
Mass resolution such that it is possible to clearly distinguish a peak corresponding to a singly charged ion from its neighbors \(\pu{1 u}\) away, usually with no more than \(\pu{5\!-\! 10\%}\) overlap.
Note: This term is most frequently used to describe resolution obtained using a Paul ion trap or a transmission quadrupole mass spectrometer.
