Thin double layer of mesothelium and irregular connective tissue that lines the abdominal cavity and covers most of the abdominal organs.
Note: The two layers of the peritoneum consist of the
parietal peritoneum that lines the abdominal wall and the
visceral peritoneum that covers the abdominal organs.
