Disposable pipette tip with a small packed bed, disc, or monolithic plug of sorbent at its narrow end.

Notes:
  1. A typical design of sorbent-containing pipette device for high throughput sample processing is shown in the figure below.
  2. A micropipettor is used to control sample processing steps. This arrangement facilitates the use of bidirectional flow (the cycling of sample and solvents across the sorbent bed in either direction) for sample processing.
