Non-parametric supervised classification method for objects based on the closest training examples in the variable space.
Notes: - An object is classified by a majority vote of its \(k\)-nearest neighbours, with the object being assigned to the class most common.
- \(k\) is a small positive integer.
- When \(k = 1\) the method is known as "nearest neighbour".
