<notes>

In principal-component analysis, the factors are orthogonal and the scores are an orthogonal projection of the objects onto a factor.

The scores on a factor reflect the relationships between objects for that factor.

The term scores (plural) refers to a whole column in the scores matrix that relates to a particular factor. The term score (singular) is the projection of a particular object onto the factor.
