Notes 1) One side of the channel is heated and the other side is cooled. A relatively small temperature difference between the top and bottom walls of the channel provides a high thermal gradient. 2) TFFF has been mainly used for the separation of lyophilic synthetic polymers, including ultrahigh molecular weight polymers and microgels. However, some reports of other types of macromolecules and particles, including aqueous solvents, are present in the literature.
