initialism: LOS
https://doi.org/10.1351/goldbook.09847
Lipopolysaccharide produced by specific wild-type bacteria that give a smooth-colony appearance when cultured on agar plates.
Notes:
  1. LOSs are composed of lipid A and a saccharide moiety, limited to an oligosaccharide core only.
  2. The lack of O-polysaccharide chains in LOS structures is an inherent property of bacteria.
