Amount of a ligand that binds to a receptor expressed in operational units.
Notes: - Operational units are defined in contrast to the quantitative mass units of the affinity constant.
- Binding capacity is determined by saturating the receptor and then measuring the amount of complex forming ligand. Parameters like pH and ionic strength influence the capacity value, which will be changed depending on the experimental conditions.
