Nuclear reaction that has a narrow peak in the
nuclear reaction cross section as a function of energy, the
nuclear reaction cross section at the peak being so much larger than the
nuclear reaction cross sections at adjacent energies on either side of the peak that essentially all the particles detected from the reaction are due to the peak.
