Definition
Kind of ion-selective membranes used in an ISE comprising synthetic cross-linked polymer with fixed sites or thin glass membrane.

Note
The chemical composition of the polymer (e.g. polystyrenesulfonate, sulfonated poly(tetrafluoroethylene), poly(vinyl chloride) aminated) or the glass determines the membrane selectivity (see pH-sensitive electrode).
