Electrode that maintains a constant, but not generally well-defined, potential in an
electrochemical cell.
Note: Examples are platinum or silver wires used in non-aqueous electrolytes or ionic liquids. Quasi-reference electrodes are calibrated against a reference electrode or by using a redox couple of known standard electrode potential.
