Notes:
- General formula of a regular polydiacetylene that is prepared by the photo-induced topochemical polymerization of a crystalline 1,3-diyne is as follows:where \(\ce{R^{1}}\) and \(\ce{R^{2}}\) are each hydrogen or an alkyl, aryl or heteroaryl group.
- Polydiacetylenes are a subclass of conjugated polymers and of polyacetylenes.
