Notes: - The objective evidence needed for verification can be the result of an inspection or of other forms of determination such as performing alternative calculations or reviewing documents.
- The activities carried out for verification are sometimes termed "qualification process".
- The term "verified" is used to designate the corresponding status.
- In the VIM, "verification" is defined as "provision of objective evidence that a given item fulfils specified requirements".
