synonyms: analytical sensitivity, sensitivity
https://doi.org/10.1351/goldbook.08124
Quotient of the change in an indication of a measuring system and the corresponding change in a quantity being measured.
Notes:
  1. Sensitivity of a measuring system can depend on the value of the quantity being measured.
  2. The change considered in a value of a quantity being measured must be large compared with the resolution.
  3. Sensitivity of a measuring system can be obtained from the slope of the calibration curve.
  4. Sensitivity of a measuring system should not be confused with diagnostic sensitivity in laboratory medicine.
  5. Sensitivity of a measuring system should not be confused with limit of detection or limit of quantification.
