Ability of a
measurement procedure to maintain acceptable performance under minor changes in operating conditions.
Notes: - Ruggedness is normally investigated as a part of procedure development and may be part of procedure validation.
- The outcome of a ruggedness test provides objective evidence of the applicability of the measurement procedure during normal usage.
- A measurement procedure, the performance of which remains unaffected by minor changes in operating conditions, is usually said to be "rugged" or "robust".
