Quantity value, less than or equal to what the absolute difference between two measured quantity values obtained under specified conditions of measurement is expected to be with a given probability.
Notes:
- ISO 3534-2 defines three kinds of precision limit: repeatability limit (\(r\)), intermediate precision limit, and reproducibility limit (\(R\)) obtained under repeatability conditions of measurement, intermediate precision conditions of measurement, and reproducibility conditions of measurement, respectively. The recommended probability is \(\pu{95 \%}\).
- Precision limit at approximately \(\pu{95 \%}\) is estimated by multiplying the standard deviation obtained under the specified conditions of measurement by \(2\sqrt{2}\).
