Activity to determine whether specified requirements relating to a product, process, system, person, or body are fulfilled.
Notes:
  1. The subject field of conformity assessment includes activities, such as testing, calibration, carrying out an audit, inspection, and certification, as well as the accreditation of conformity assessment bodies.
  2. The expression "object of conformity assessment" or "object" is used to encompass any particular material, product, installation, process, system, person, or body to which conformity assessment is applied.
  3. "Body" refers to an organization.
